Savanna is proud to have been among the first leading firms to embrace and promote the importance of achieving LEED and Energy Star certification. Dating back over a decade, our firm’s developments have consistently been awarded LEED certification on an annual basis, including projects such as 48 West 25th Street, which earned LEED Platinum certification in 2010 and holds an Energy Star rating of 76. For context, Energy Star ratings over 75 indicates that a building is a “top performer,” with LEED Platinum being the highest certification achievable today.

As a nationwide leader, Savanna strives to achieve these rankings across its entire portfolio. This is made possible through both internal and external benchmarks, which our team uses to inform our ESG progress and future initiatives. By consistently setting these portfolio-wide goals – such as committing to achieving Energy Star ratings of 75 or higher – we demonstrate the importance of adhering to these globally recognized symbols of sustainability achievement and help our investors meet their own ESG goals.

To date, this commitment has resulted in our portfolio including eight LEED certified buildings and five Energy Star certified buildings totaling over one million square feet. We believe this proves the business case for these certifications and the improved building performance and tenant satisfaction that results from obtaining this certification.
